10 years ago, I was an “injury-prone” distance runner burnt out on hopping between cookie-cutter programs, wondering why I couldn’t find the same joy in the weight room I did on the trails.

Hi! I’m Rachel.

Strength coach, running coach, dog-mom, regular-mom, mountain athlete. Packer of snacks, lover of Trader Joe’s, coffee, Parks & Rec, and playing outside.

Mountain sports gave me connection, confidence, and joy. But as a card-carrying member of team “too much”, overdoing it on my adventures led to literal YEARS of battling over-use injuries.

That is, until I discovered the magic of strength training. Sure, I could go further and faster…

But I also felt strong.

Powerful.

Capable.

Confident.

Connected to my body.

And that changed my life in and out of the gym. In a world that still pressures women to “shrink, shred and tone”, I want more women to feel like, and view themselves as, athletes.

To experience their own power, strength and resilience. To know that training can support their life rather than feeling like another “should”. And to have the skills, knowledge and trust to continue training long-haul.

And that’s why I built my Summit Coaching program.

Over the next 6-12 months, you’re not only going to get strong AF - you’re going to build a training lifestyle and the skills to keep doing the shit you love for decades.

Within Summit, we do this by combining purposeful, personalized programming with deep, on-going coaching support.

  • No more stuffing your life into a cookie-cutter plan.

    By combining collaborative long-term planning and regular check-ins, we’ll develop a program that supports your seasons of sport & life.

    You’ll know exactly what to prioritize to train in a way that feels sustainable and supportive.

  • Lower the barrier of “WTF do I do in the gym”.

    Outsource it to me. I literally LOVE this shit.

    I’ll integrate everything you need into a custom training plan, accessible via a wildly user-friendly app. So you just open your phone and get to work.

  • No more second-guessing if you’re doing it right.

    Using video analysis, personalized cues/feedback and educational resources, over the next year you’ll:

    • dial your set-up for all major movements

    • know where you “should” feel each exercise

    • understand basic troubleshooting and “red flags”

    • build a toolkit of strategies to progress & challenge yourself

    To do this I need to see you move. Videos are required for most movements for the first two months, and unlimited form checks are included for the duration of the program.

FAQs

You’re nosey…and I like that! Here’s what you need to know…

  • 1:1 coaching is fully customized - so I’ll work with what you’ve got.

    But since you’re INVESTING in my coaching expertise - the more you have access to, the MORE we can work with. I would highly recommend buying some equipment OR a gym membership during our time together.

    I would love LOVE for you to leave this coaching container feeling like you can walk into any gym feeling so confident that you don’t even flinch as you set up your rack, load on the plates, grab some kettlebells, set-up for a pull-up…etc - but to practice that we need access to the things!

    I’m happy to make specific equipment suggestions during our consult call, but at a minimum I would recommend:

    • Light, medium, and heavy weights (dumbbell or kettlebells)

    • Resistance bands (mini bands and “long loop” bands)

    • A sturdy box/bench (coffee table or chair can work)

    • A pull-up bar (door mounted is fine)

  • YES. Videos are required for every movement during our first 2 months together. Simply put, I cannot coach you without seeing how you move. Without video I’m just over here guessing at what’s going on - so I cannot troubleshoot or know when and how to progress without getting my eyeballs on it.

    I know this can feel awkward at first (especially in public) but..

    I promise you it is worth it. You are paying for my coaching eye - use it!

    I promise no one cares or is judging - 99% of folks at the gym are wrapped up in their own workouts or sitting there scrolling through their phones

    If anyone did notice/say something… all you need to say is “i’m taking a video for my coach”.

    Don’t stress about perfection in your videos - I am not judging you

    After that, video is optional but included in your package - I’ll 100% watch & provide feedback for every video you submit - so I’d highly recommend using it!

  • Technically, no. You’ll have access to ALL of your past workouts for a full month following termination of your contract - after that point, you’ll lose access to the app unless you choose to continue in 1:1 or one of my templated programs.

    But…

    You are welcome (and encouraged) to WRITE DOWN or screen shot your program/workouts as you go. This a great way to keep your program for life at a cost of $0.00 to you 🙂

  • You’ve got OPTIONS:

    • You can renew for another 6- or 12-month 1:1 coaching term

    • You can hop into one of my templated programs

    • You can choose to follow another coach’s templated or group program

    • You can DIY it or repeat your program if you’ve written it down.

  • No! Running is by no means required.

    I’ve worked with: runners, gravel bikers, mountain bikers, through-hikers, adventure racers, rock/ice climbing guides, skiers, snowboarders, do-all-the-things’ers.

    If you’re not a runner (or interested in becoming one) - I’m not gonna ask you to run. If we integrate conditioning into your program DO ACTIVITIES YOU LIKE.

    If you are a runner, I’m happy to integrate running into your conditioning plan at no additional cost - including event/race specific prep.

  • Nope! You do your workouts on your own time. It’s honestly THE BEST blend of support, structure and flexibility to train when it fits your life on a given week.

    PLUS…you get REPS IN making time to train and figuring out where it fits best into your routine.
